Not many people know this, but yes – they do. In addition to being strong in rowing and handball, the people of Vestmanna have now also established a football field. They mean business.

Just above the school, the field awaits. During the day, it’s mostly schoolchildren playing, but everyone is welcome to join in. If you’re visiting Vestmanna as a family or on a company outing, it’s a fun way to stretch your legs and get moving.

Chances are it won’t be long before someone else joins in, and before you know it, you have enough players for a match. The field is free to use, and the easiest way to get there is to drive up past the school via Garðavegur. There’s parking available.
